Right on the heels of Deka’s Ice-Fishing derby comes the Lions Snowarama Ice Fishing Derby at West Sheridan, on Feb. 20.

The curling days of the past may return as a community pastime next season if the local organizers have their way in Forest Grove.

It seems for the past several years I’ve opened my annual summary by talking about the uncertainty we’re facing regarding funding.

The annual Dusty Rose fishing derby will be held Feb. 19 at Big Bar Lake, with dinner to follow at the pub.

A 25-kilometre trek along a mountainous forestry road would be an adventure in itself for just about anyone.
