According to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), the daffodil is a symbol of strength, courage and life.
The Daffodil Days campaign offers daffodils and daffodil pins for sale to raise money.
"April is Cancer Awareness Month and we have pins available for donations at quite a few local outlets, including Save-on-Foods, Donex Pharmacy and Department Store, Fischer Place cafeteria, Royal Bank, Husky Station, Pharmasave, and the BC Liquor Store," says local CCS contact Anita Best
Daffodil Day is April 27, Best says, adding the pins are available now until April 30.
"We are encouraging people to proudly wear their pins to remember those who lost their battle with cancer and to honour those battling the disease."
The daffodil flower sales contact was unavailable for comment, but Best says she believes all the flowers have already been sold.< style=' margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt;} > For more information on the Canadian Cancer Society and the Daffodil Days campaign, call 1-800-403-8222.< style=' margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt;} >
