To all of our residents at the Watch Lake Green Lake Community, the Williams Lake CRD FireSmart Coordinator, Travis Flanagan, will be coming out to do a presentation on the FireSmart program and how to prepare for the upcoming wildfire season.
This presentation will be held at the Watch Lake Community Hall and will run for approximately one hour with videos, information as well as answering your important questions. There are two dates that you can choose from.
The first one will be on Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. and the second will be on Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Please attend this important event to help protect your community from future wildfires.

Community Association AGM
The Watch Lake-Green Lake Community Association (WLGLCA) held its annual general meeting on March 12 with 17 members attending.
The 2025 executives are president Brad Scott, vice-president Ed Kendall, secretary Rebecca Kendall, treasurer Gisele Poliseno and directors Doug Compton, Jolene Fremlin and Robin Quaale. The association's events for this year include the Fishing Derby on June 7 and 8, Gymkhanas on July 12 and August 9 and the Christmas Party in December.
The meetings are on the second Wednesday of every month except for July, August and December. Social at 7 p.m. and the meeting at 7:30 p.m. New members are always welcome.
Watch Lake Community Hall Events
For the month of April, the activities include:
Medicine Movement every Monday starting April 7 at 7 p.m. by donation. This is a blend of yoga, relaxation, fascia release, connection and fun. For more information, contact Jane Rezende at 403-671-9188
Darts every Thursday afternoon from noon to 4 p.m. and evening from 6 to 10 p.m. This is a great way to meet your neighbours and have fun as well.
FireSmart Community Event on Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. Come and learn about practical and easy ways to mitigate wildfire risks on your property. The good news it is surprisingly easy to do.
Wildflowers Women Gathering on Saturday, April 26 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. The cost is $35.00. For more information, contact Jane Rezende at 403-671-9188

Watch Lake-North Green Lake VFD meets two to three times a month. The next two practices will be on Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, April 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. New volunteers are always welcome. If you can find the time, come, and join.
