Around 50 local youth took their ball hockey game from the street to the pond for an inaugural Canada Day event at Rogers Rink (Shaw Centre) in Salmon Arm.
Salmon Arm Recreation hosted its 1st Annual Ball Hockey Tournament at Hucul Pond on Monday, July 1. Several teams took part in the event, some with jerseys, and competed against teams of similar age for medals and other prizes – all the while being cheered on by family members in the stands.
For those who missed it, organizers said the plan is to grow the event when it returns in 2025.
