Premier putting on a two-bit sideshow

British Columbia's Premier Christy Clark has just exposed her naivety

To the editor:

When it comes to the law, British Columbia's Premier Christy Clark has just exposed her naivety.

When it comes to cameras, Clark is forever overexposing herself.

By overriding the advice of the provincial prosecutors and by insisting cameras should be placed in the courtrooms with the hockey hooligans, she has proved her priorities are out of focus.

Perhaps this is just a shoddy attempt to market the lawyers' verbal cuts, thrusts and parries as an educational training aid to show wannabe hooligans how modern-day gladiators mete out justice with their digitally enhanced wits.

Real criminals will probably learn even more, like how to dance around the Criminal Code by concentrating on fancy footwork while keeping one's mouth shut.

Most British Columbians can recognize a political circus and a two-bit sideshow when they see one. Someone should tell Clark the judiciary already knows how to do its job.

Unfortunately the same thing can not be said for our Premier.
