The walk alongside Shoal Harbour is daily traversed by nearly everyone in Sidney and their dog. It is lined with willow trees that are poorly maintained by the Town of Sidney, sometimes hitting people in the face, and certainly fouling the yards and decks of townhouses in Resthaven by the Sea.
A bouquet to the kind neighbour who, after a conversation, left six beautifully painted stones for all to admire on my wall, to help distract from the ugliness of these trees. We thought people might take one, leave one; but everyone could enjoy them while they lasted.
A beef regarding the two young boys on scooters who came along and stuffed their pockets with them yesterday (even after being asked to take only one), including the one that was my decoration in celebration of this, our Canada Day. Where were their parents? Are Sidney kids becoming Americanized?
