The rotating Crib tournament at the Green Lake Snowmobile Club clubhouse on Jan. 17 was a huge success.

It was a great night, said organizer Sue Olliffe noting there were six tables of four players and one table of two players. She added there was a nice mix of people from North and South Green Lake as well as 70 Mile House.

“We were very happy with the turnout of 26 players," Olliffe said. “We want to thank co-conveners Murray and Annie Sasyniuk for running the event, and everyone who helped set up, clean up, brought app's and the people who just came out.”

There were prizes for top score, lowest score, highest hand and lowest hand.

The two top score winners were Ambur Mitchell and Diane Sullivan.

Olliffe said there will definitely be another Crib night – date to be determined. She added they would like to plan some other game nights on a regular basis.

“The club is in transition right now with plans of becoming a more inclusive Community Centre and Outdoor Recreation group supporting the needs of our community," Olliffe explained. “We want to preserve the traditions of the snowmobile club, and maintain our trail systems for all users and not just snowmobiles.”

The idea is to have events year-round and not just in the winter, Olliffe added.

The snowmobile club's next general meeting will be at the clubhouse on Jan. 29, starting at 7 p.m., Olliffe said.

“We are hoping to get ideas from the community as to what they would like to see in the future. We are also welcoming new club members and community-minded people interested in being part of the new executive.”

Olliffe added anyone with questions can email grlksnowmobileclubinfo@gmail.com.
