Lone Butte Post Office to resume deliveries Friday

The Lone Butte Post Office has been closed for the last two days

The Lone Butte Post Office will reopen Friday, July 19 after being unexpectedly closed for two days.

The post office was closed on Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18 leaving residents in Lone Butte and Bridge Lake without postal services. Valérie Chartrand, media relations for Canada Post, confirmed the closure saying that it was due to "unforeseen circumstances" because of a water leak discovered at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

"Our local operations team has been working on contingency plans to restore postal services and mail delivery in the community as quickly as possible," Chartrand said. "As such, we can confirm that mail delivery will resume tomorrow."

While they work to resume operations Chartrand said customers are temporarily being redirected to the 100 Mile House Post Office for their postal needs. The post office is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

"We apologize to customers for the inconvenience and thank them for their patience and understanding," Chartrand said.

This closure has disrupted the delivery of the simplymastery to subscribers in the Lone Butte area. Subscribers can pick their copies of their paper up at the High Ground Cafe's library.

Anyone with further questions regarding the postal services is asked to contact Canada Post's Customer Service team online at canadapost.ca/support or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301.
