81 Cariboo athletes set to participate at Special Olympics BC Summer Games

The 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games are taking place in Prince George from July 10-12, with 81 athletes and coaches from Northeastern B.C.

The next three days are set to fill Prince George with fun competition to see who's B.C.'s best.

From July 10-12, the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games are taking place in Prince George. In total, 81 athletes and coaches will be presenting Region 8, which covers Northeastern B.C.

Of the 81 athletes, the majority of them are from Prince George and Quesnel, but Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Dawson Creek, Fort St, John, and MacKenzie will also be represented. The full list of athletes, along with their sport, can be found here.

On Thursday night, the games will begin with an opening ceremony.

Of the two days of competition, athletes will compete in 10-pin bowling, golf, basketball, bocce, power lifting, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming, and track and field.
