UPDATE: Power restored to thousands in South Cariboo

The outage occurred this afternoon due to a tree down across the lines

UPDATE: Powers has been restored to thousands of B.C. Hydro customers after a fallen tree downed some power lines.

The outage had impacted customers across the South Cariboo between Littlefort and Horse Lake Road. Power was off for about three hours as B.C. Hydro crews worked to restore power.

ORIGINAL STORY: Thousands of BC Hydro customers are without power in the South Cariboo on Wednesday afternoon, May 29.

The outage occurred at 2:40 p.m. and affects 2,946 customers according to BC Hydro’s outage map. Impacted communities include Bridge Lake, Roe Lake, Deka Lake, Horse Lake and Sheridan Lake.

At this time the cause of the power outage is still under investigation. A crew has been assigned to fix the cause of the outage.
