The Town of Qualicum Beach will hold its Family Day celebration on May 25.
Council, during a special meeting on May 2, approved the plans for the celebration that required street closures for events that include a parade that will travel along Harlech Road, First Avenue West, up Primrose Street to Second Avenue West to Jones Street, ending at the main entrance of the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.
The town has sponsored this event since 1976.
Council has also approved the allocation of funds for the celebration, not exceeding $10,000 to cover expenditures that include activities, performers and materials.
Children will love the 13 bounce houses, scavenger hunt, face painting, and abundant activities found at each exhibit. The main stage will be buzzing with all-day performances by talented local artists and community groups. The festivities will come to a close with a free swim from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ravensong Aquatic Centre.

8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Pancake Breakfast & Live Entertainment at the Civic Centre;
Noon: Street Parade (Primrose St, along Second Ave, and on Jones St to the Civic Centre);
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.:Activities/Live Entertainment/Exhibitions/Bounce Houses, etc. at the Community Playing Fields next to the Civic Centre;
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Free Swim at the Ravensong Aquatic Centre;
