Road reopens after fatal collision closes Highway 1 west of Kamloops

Motorists are asked to stay away from the area

Highway 1 was closed for several hourse 18 to 30 km west of Kamloops Thursday, Jan. 2.

Update 9:20 p.m.

Highway 1 has reopened fully west of Kamloops after emergency crews responded to a fatal collsion.

Update:

Both directions of Highway 1 east of Savona are currently closed due to a fatal collision.

Original: 

Highway 1 is closed in both directions 18 to 30 km west of Kamloops due to a multi-vehicle incident. 

The closure is between Tunkwa Lake Road and Cavesson Way.

There is no detour available and an assessment is in progress.
