100 Mile House District Council unanimously approved the Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School (PSO) graduation parade route at their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 28. The parade, which is scheduled to occur on June 15 between 2 to 3 p.m., is set to start “behind Save-on-Foods, cross First Avenue, left on 4th Avenue, right on Cedar Avenue, and into Centennial Park” according to a letter submitted by Kelly Kelsey, a parent who serves on the PSO Dry Grad Committee.
New washrooms for Centennial Park
Council also approved supporting the submission of an infrastructure planning grant application for the Centennial Park Washroom Design Project.
According to the report prepared by Joanne Doddridge, the director of economic development and planning, the project is to “obtain design and engineering for new, accessible washrooms at Centennial Park”, which includes the engineering of a new lift station for the washrooms and the refitting of existing lift station for spray park usage only.
The cost of the project is estimated to be $40,000, and if the grant is approved, it would pay up to $10,000, according to the report. Council unanimously moved to support the grant application.
RFQ Approved
Meanwhile, Prairie Coast beat out Oakcreek Golf & Turf for a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a commercial terrain mower and a commercial front mower. Prairie quoted that the terrain mower will cost $138,389.44, while the front mower will cost $71,821.12.
The mowers are not set to be delivered to 100 Mile until 2025 due to “supply timelines”, according to a report delivered by Sheena Elias, the director of finance. Council approved the RFQs unanimously.
