The 100 Mile District General Hospital’s emergency room will remain open today.

On Thursday, March 28 Interior Health announced the temporary closure of the emergency room from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to a staff shortage. However, roughly a half hour later IH issued a statement saying personnel had been found to cover the shift so the emergency room will remain open 24/7 as normal.

All other services at the hospital will continue as normal today.

Interior Health encourages anyone unsure if a trip to the emergency room is warranted to call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
