Hot July Nights Car & Bike Show is coming to 100 Mile House on July 15-17.

The show and shine will be held on Saturday instead of Sunday, and organizers are expecting a great time showcasing not only the great "wheels," but also this year's venue in the jewel of 100 Mile - Centennial Park.

The weekend event will kick off Friday (July 15) evening with Cruisin' the Dub in the A&W parking lot.

Participants and spectators will be entertained by the Cheeky Lil' Monkeys hula dancers at 6 p.m., and then the Baladi Babes belly dancers are up next at 6:30.

After the dancers get the crowd warmed up, the 2011 South Cariboo Idols take centre stage and start belting out the tunes. Organizers won't be surprised if there's a little dancing taking place in the parking lot.

Hot July Nights chair Dave Mingo says the gates open at Centennial Park at 1 p.m. on Saturday. This is when the participants will register and set up their display and do the last-minute buffing before the crowds arrive.

At 3 p.m., Mingo says spectators are welcome to come and view the show and shine.

He adds the judging takes place later in the evening, with the awards and prize draw starting just after 8 p.m.

"The park is a beautiful space for the show, offering a chance for visitors and locals alike to see what it has to offer, with a babbling creek running through it, and a playground for the children.

Mingo notes there is an open space for vendors and displays, and he adds the 100 Mile House & district Women's Centre Society will be at the park holding a 50/50 draw.

Chrome Reverse will also be providing the entertainment on Saturday evening with two shows: 5-6 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.

A poker walk is being organized for the downtown businesses, Lorene Neufeld of Chartreuse Moose says, adding any businesses that are interested in the walk are welcome to call her at 250-395-4644.

With the weather the South Cariboo has been experiencing, Mingo also has a rainout solution.

The 100 Mile Flyers Club has offered its airport as an option if it rains, he explains.

"We will also have a shuttle service available carrying people from the Information Centre to the park."

Mingo notes that anyone with mobility issues shouldn't worry about attending the show, as there will be handicap parking at the park.

After a pancake breakfast is finished at Central GM on Sunday morning, the cars and bikes will rev up to tour through 108 Mile, says cruise organizer Gary Hales.

"I'm looking forward to the whole show," he adds. "It should be fun."
