The Horse Lake water system will undergo maintenance and flushing from June 2 to June 6.

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) announced the maintenance in a May 29 press release. This comes after the Horse Lake Water system was put on a boil water notice in May following earlier maintenance.

"Water may be cloudy with air or display more particulates when taps are turned on, there is no cause for concern," the CRD said.

The CRD adds that people may choose to allow water to "run clear before using."

"It is advised you change any home water filters that you may have inside your homes once flushing is complete," the CRD added.

The CRD also advises people to be cautious around crews at work and directs those with any questions and concerns to contact the Environmental Services Department at 250-391-3351. Residents should also note that the Horse Lake water system is still under a manganese water quality advisory, which has been active since late 2021.
