Emergency crews are on scene of a traffic collision Monday, March 24, on Highway 5 south of Little Fort, between Barriere and Clearwater.
The incident occurred around 10:48 a.m.
DriveBC is reporting the highway is closed between Barriere Town Road and Webb Road for 24.9 km, five kilometres south of Little Fort to Barriere. Drivers are reminded to expect delays and to watch for emergency vehicles and crews.
Black press editor Hettie Buck is waiting in the traffic lineup and said a helicopter tried to land closer to the collision scene but because of the power lines there was not enough clearance so it landed in a farmer's field.
"They've transported a person by ambulance to the field," said Buck.
