100 Mile Quilts for Survivors bids farewell to Dancing Quilts

Dancing Quilts has now closed and Quilts for Survivors has relocated to Creative Magic Art and Hobby

Around a dozen members of the 100 Mile Quilts for Survivors Program came out on Wednesday, April 26 to celebrate Dancing Quilts' last day.

The business, operated by Faith Andre for close to a decade, has hosted the program for the last three years. Earlier this month Andre chose to close down her business meaning that the program had to find a new home. Lisa De Paoli, the Cariboo coordinator for Quilts for Survivors, found that new home at Creative Magic Art and Hobby where it will now be hosted on the final Wednesday of every month.

During the final meeting at Dancing Quilts, members of the program ate cake, shared memories of their time at the store and made quilts. These quilts will go towards survivors of Canada's Residental School program across the country.

Anyone looking to find out more about Quilts for Survivors can contact De Paoli at 250-397-2978 or lisad8@telus.net.
