A Nanaimo performer will host a one-woman show "skewering British customs" this coming weekend.
Sheila Norgate created the character and wrote the show titled A Broad Abroad: Mrs. Frank Hokum Goes to England, which will be presented at Unitarian Fellowship Hall on Saturday, April 12.
According to a news release, the character is a combination of women who, at one time or anther, have taken residence in the psyche of Norgate.
“Mrs. Frank Hokum has a lot of opinions on just about everything and she isn’t shy about sharing them. In her latest show, A Broad Abroad, she expounds on the findings of a recent excursion to the U.K.: skewering British customs, food, and most especially, modern art,” the release noted. "Norgate as Mrs. Frank Hokum is a tour de farce, a one-woman fulfillment."
