Vernon Kokanee Swim Club race to personal bests at home meet

The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club raced to strong performances at their home Nolan Pharmasave Invitational and Jamboree meet.

Vernon Kokanee Swim Club (VKSC) athletes felt the home crowd, swimming to top performances at their local meet. 

The club was competing at the Nolan's Pharmasave Invitational and Jamboree, where 44 swimmers took part in the jamboree and 56 in the main meet.

Several swimmers had big time drops, notably Alex Puchkov, Al Chen and Danika Buse. Kubrick Reed made his 17th divisional time standard in the 1,500 m freestyle men's 15 and over age group, while Teo Bos made his 17th divisional time standard in the 200 m butterfly men's 12 and under. 

Senna Entner swam to a provincial women's S7 para record in the women's 200 m butterfly, with a time of 5:43.70, while Kayne Clark, Ruslan Knutsen and Heidi Plummer swam their first 200 m butterfly event.

Indie Tanzola had an impressive swim, with a sub-four-minute time in the 100 m individual medley with a time of 3:50.28. Alanna Gauthier also beat the four-minute barrier, with a time of 3:59.18.

Overall, 229 personal best times were set by VKSC swimmers.
