Forest Grove and District Rod and Gun Club hosted a successful Second Annual Hans Saenger Memorial Shoot on May 1.
Close to 40 people gathered for the trap-shooting event, with 10 shooters going into the competition and the rest did the pre-shoot practice rounds or just watched and supported the shooters
Regardless, they all enjoyed glorious sunny weather for the event.
After two rounds of shooting, with 25 shots per round, Fred Junginger of Forest Grove and Al Gear of Lone Butte were tied, sending the pair into sudden-death competition.
The showdown went six shots apiece before Junginger was declared the winner and awarded a trophy by club vice-president Dennis Brown. Gear won the first annual memorial shoot in 2010.
Club secretary-treasurer Martina Dopf says the shoot was more of a social event than a competitive one.
"We had lots of people come and they just enjoyed meeting others. We've never had so many people on the range."
A barbecue helped round out the day's activities.
