A fastball tournament in Summerland on May 7-8 saw the Super Cats II Midget team from 100 Mile House get some much needed early season game experience.
It came with mixed results in four games, as their only win was tallied in a hard-fought contest with Summerland that ended 14-13 for the Cats.
A closely matched Salmon Arm team just managed to maintain a 9-6 gap that kept the Cats out of the winners' circle.
Fleetwood and North Langley teams both enjoyed wide margins in their victories over 100 Mile.
Super Cats' tournament most valuable players were Rebecca Keefe, Brittany St. Pierre, Kaitlin Thomson and Sarah Cushing.
Coach Jodi Thomson says her girls played well and had fun.
"We lost three and won one, so we're happy about that. We had a great weekend, although we encountered on-an-off rain all weekend and it was hard to play with wet balls."
Their next tournament is June 4-5 in Kamloops and weekly home games will see the team at Robinson Ball Park each Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
