The Norbord PeeWee Wranglers played their first two home games over the weekend, coming away with two victories over Lillooet.
The first game Saturday afternoon saw the local squad to a 12-1 victory followed by another win for the club Sunday morning with a final score of 13-2.
Strong positional play, as well as a pass-first mentality, led the way for the wins for the team.
“Continued development in these areas are crucial for any team at any level. Our players are starting to work towards those parts of their game successfully, but with tougher upcoming opponents, those goals get a little more challenging” states head coach Wally Bramsleven.
“We’ll see how they perform this weekend and hopefully come out with positive results. As long as the games are fun and they develop their hockey skills further, that’s all that really counts”.
The weekend victories place the Norbord PeeWee Wranglers in first in the PeeWee OHAMA division at this point of the season, although a pair of games upcoming against Clearwater this weekend will be a truer test.
Clearwater as well has had as much success against the same opposing teams.
The matches this weekend should be close and very competitive.
Games this weekend will be at the Clearwater arena at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
