In a unanimous vote, trustees voted to close Bridge Lake Elementary School at the Williams Lake school board meeting on April 26.
Parents and Bridge Lake and area community members pleaded to keep the school open for at least another year to see if the groups forecast of more students come fruition.
Trustees and administration learned three formal complaints have been filed with the Office of the Ombudsperson, regarding a flawed consultation process, long bus ride risks for children and the school board not being in compliance with its own policies, Ministry Orders and the School Act.
