Municipality limits liability for memorials

Bylaw amendment intended to avoid misunderstandings

A Cemetery Amendment Bylaw is moving ahead to clarify liability does not fall on the municipality for repairs or replacements to damaged memorials.

Whether it occurs from routine lawn mowing or vandalism, the district will not pay for memorial replacements, unless staff negligence is involved, or it knocks something over with heavy equipment.
