Local Farmers' Market hosts Christmas market on Dec. 2

Most of the summer market participants will be selling yuletide goods, gifts

A popular holiday tradition returns to 100 Mile House this week when the Christmas Market takes place at the 100 Mile Community Hall on tomorrow (Dec. 2).

The market gets underway at 10 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m, and market manager Laura Stock tells the 100 Mile House Free Press the hall will be packed with vendors. Most of the vendors participate in the South Cariboo Farmer's Market (SCFM) throughout the summer.

"Most of them will be familiar vendors from the regular market, and a lot of them will have some special items for Christmas."

In addition to vendors, there will be live music throughout the day, as well as a concession hosted by the Horse Lake Farm Co-op, serving coffee, lunch and other goodies.

There will also be a fundraising component to the market – wreaths will be sold to raise money for the SCFM's nutritional coupon program, which Stock says helps local low-income families purchase fresh produce and other goods.
