Bell-206 helicopter crashed near No Name Lakes on Sept. 2

Pilot was lone occupant, suffered serious injuries and airlifted to Kamloops Hospital

A helicopter crashed near No Name Lakes northeast of Canim Lake and off the 7200 Road around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.

The pilot was the lone occupant of the helicopter and was reported to be conscious with some chest pain complaints.

The helicopter was a Bell-206 owned by Far West Helicopters and contracted out to a mining company.

Medical rescue vehicles were on their way to the crash site.

BC Ambulance Service was scrambling one of its helicopters. It was noted there was a good landing area near crash site.

The pilot, who suffered serious injuries, was airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
