I really like one of my brother-in-law’s sayings: "It is what it is."
If something happens that can't be undone, then I have choices: live with it and change my attitude; ignore it and don't get involved; embrace it and do something about it.
It wastes too much of my sorely depleting energy to let it bother me.
The Show & Shine is being moved to the Centennial Park. I'm not going to get into the politics of this event and I'm not going to talk about whether it is a good idea or not. What's done is done.
I choose to embrace it. We have a beautiful park, and this is a good way for us to showcase it.
I think better signage might help the out-of-towners, and businesses could put together something to invite people to their stores.
So, maybe we can all accept what has happened and help make this one of the best Hot July Nights Car, Bike Show and Swap Meet that has happened in 100 Mile House.
