Well done

They did it.

Kerri DuPont, Nicki Dayman and her sister, Bobbi-Jo, completed a fundraising marathon in Rome on March 20.

After months of training and raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to participate in the marathon, the women crossed the finish line virtually at the same time, says Glynis Dayman (mother of Nicki and Bobbi-Jo). Glynis is currently battling lymphocytic leukemia.

The women completed the 42.2-kilometre marathon, which attracted more than 16,000 participants, in slightly more than six hours and 30 minutes.

"What they have done will benefit somebody, someplace in the world at some place in time," says Glynis. Between the three of them, they raised more than $20,000.

"I'm so proud of them," she adds.

100 Mile House should be proud of them too. For whatever their reasons were, these women committed to something that mattered, worked towards it and finished it.
