Vote ‘yes’ to kill HST

B.C. Liberal ads deceptive

If we were ever in doubt as to the lengths the B.C. Liberal government would stoop to achieve its objective, just read the advertisement, which we paid for, on page A13 of the June 29 Free Press.

It begins: "If British Columbians vote 'no' to going back to PST & GST in the referendum..."

Not satisfied they sought to confuse the public by wording the referendum question in the positive to achieve a negative and vice versa, now the B.C. Liberals are re-wording their advertisement to further confuse the public in the hope of getting the result they want.

There’s no doubt they might fool some people who might miss the significance of the inverted commas around the word 'no', but the message is clear - this government intends to use any method to achieve its ends regardless of how devious those methods are.

Don't be fooled. By now, we all should know the vote is “yes” to go back to the PST and GST.
