Being there shows support, and it's not always about the money.
The Relay for Life annual event on June 11 at Centennial Park in 100 Mile House, is combined with an old-fashioned family picnic, full of activities, including races for the children, games, health promotions, massages and a silent auction.
There will be music and entertainment all day long.
If you cannot afford to donate to the relay, it doesn't matter, just bring your families and friends and enjoy the day at the park. Take in the entertainment and the stories.
Relay organizer Marisa Peter wants the day to be about awareness, remembering those touched by cancer.
The event starts at 9 a.m., with the survivors breakfast, opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. and the day ends with the touching luminary ceremony along the creek at 9 p.m.
