To the editor:
When we moved here, it was to retire in a small community, less busy, quiet and friendly town in the Interior.
Basically, we were getting away from it all.
Now, some people think it is going to be good to have a prison located in our area.
What is driving this type of brain wave?
Surely, it’s not to provide temporary jobs for a few years of construction and a few permanent jobs for say what 30 to 40 years. In the meantime, it would be jeopardizing the safety of the entire surrounding area. What a great place to holiday; think I'll send the kids out to play for awhile.
What a great place to retire where, because of the senior element and the properties being apart from each other in the area, a convict or his "free friends" can wander around and take anyone hostage or plan another grow-op, steal anything they want easily from summer homes because our mayor wants to give the B.C. Liberals another choice.
How noble and gallant that is; thanks for nothing. Hopefully, it is in the area where he lives.
There goes the neighbourhood, and maybe his next tenure as mayor.
