LETTER: Vernon policing standard questioned

Residents deserve far better policing on our roads, and more minutes at parking meters

Vernon RCMP Appreciation Day committee member Martin von Holst (fourth from right) presents Vernon North Okanagan RCMP Insp. Neil Kennedy with the official proclamation of Feb. 1 being RCMP Appreciation Day in B.C. Joining von Holst for the presentation were fellow committee members Guy Bailey (left), and Andrew Wylie (second from right), and North Okanagan-Shuswap MP Mel Arnold (fourth from left).

I was attempting to drive north on Alexis Park when a maniac cut me off zigzagging in the same direction then abruptly turned off left.

My memory recalls Police Appreciation Day a few weeks ago.

Accompanying the article was a picture of many police officers and hangers all gathered around a large cake, patting themselves on the back for their good work.

Obviously this is a public waste of time and money.

We have an invisible police force, but they appear out of the woodwork on these special days.

Vernon residents deserve far better policing on our roads.

Also at a parking meter another rip off is we only get 12 minutes instead of 15 for each quarter.

Ah life in Vernon...
