I was reading the recent issue of the Citizen, "North Cowichan votes to downscale policy on reducing GHG emissions" July 2, 2025.
Simultaneously I hear CBC radio repeating the devastating news of deaths in Texas due to flash floods (including dozens of children), and forest fire horrors here at home.
Scientists have been warning us for decades about increasingly severe and frequent climate disasters unless we change.
Even so a majority of North Cowichan councillors led by Messieurs Findlay and Manhas have voted to prioritize the profit of developers. This in spite of the industry's own report that "energy and emissions requirements were not significant drivers of capital cost variance."
One wonders are their heads screwed on properly?
