To the editor:
This is an open letter to Premier Designate Christy Clark.
Your post-leadership race acceptance speech clearly underlined a personal commitment for open dialogue with British Columbians and willingness for more transparency in government.
Many unanswered questions remain surrounding our B.C. Liberal government's sale of BC Rail. The subsequent criminal investigation culminating with "plea deals" of the only two charged and convicted, offered little to adequately address those questions in any meaningful way.
Question: Would you permit a "ballot initiative" in the next provincial election to determine voter support for an independent public inquiry with broad terms of reference, including Powers of Subpoena?
