In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that the family of William (Bill) Marshall share the news of his passing onMay 2, at the age of 81.

Bill is greatly missed by friends and family, all of whom he cherished. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sylvia . Also missing him greatly are his children, Dawna (Wayne), Kirk (Glenda), David (Donna), Rob, Cliff (Tana), Shelley and Cristalle (Pat).

Bill was a very special grandfather to Amy (Pete), Scott (Kristina), Julia (Jordan), Nigel (Carmen), Nikki, Katelyn, Cassie, Kyle (Lauren), Tyler (Pamela), and Travis (Makayla). Bill was also fortunate to have two special great granddaughters, Brielle and Gwenyn. A great grandson is expected in July.

Bill led a rich fulfilling life. He was a natural leader, first- class craftsman and legendary prankster. Nothing made his eyes twinkle more than planning a good joke, whether it was hiding an undesirable object in his son's house (this went on for years), or something more elaborate. He enjoyed adventure, including many road trips throughout North America in an RV as well as visiting exotic countries, including Bora Bora, Italy and Thailand.

Together Bill and Sylvia built two beautiful homes, one in Los Barriles, Mexico and another at Sheridan Lake, B.C. Both homes were very special, where friends and family were always welcome. A gathering at the Marshall's meant a good time and great food, thanks to Sylvia's legendary culinary skills.

Bill was a proud member of the Vancouver Police Department for thirty years. He loved being a police officer and excelled in the many assignments and ranks he earned throughout his career. His hard work and integrity were rewarded, retiring as the Chief Constable in 1994.

After retiring in 1995, Bill and Sylvia moved from Vancouver to Sheridan Lake. Bill loved the Cariboo and embraced all that it had to offer, often commenting on its beauty and how much he loved living there. The neighbours in their new home soon became very close friends, sharing snowmobile adventures, murder mystery dinners, Super Bowl parties and of course many happy hours.

Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of family and friends.

The family would like to thank his friends who were so supportive and kind during Bill's illness. Thank you to Dr. G and the staff at Mill Site Lodge who provided great care and comfort during his stay. Their compassion is greatly appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
