December 9, 1945 - October 26, 2019
Ron was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Born December 9, 1945 - Ron entered the world and lived his first 11 years in Star City, Saskatchewan. His parents Stanley and Vera, with siblings, moved to 100 Mile House in 1956, where Ron completed his schooling.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie (Smith), son Graham and mother in law Joyce Smith. Ron also left behind siblings, Murray, Shirley, Ken, Garry and Brian.
Ron was pre-deceased by his parents Stanley and Vera and his brother James.
Ron was a mechanic for most of his working life, the majority as a factory trained Honda mechanic. In retirement, he and Vickie spent time travelling around in their RV. They loved Mexico. Ron's favourite spot was Puerto Vallarta, where they spent many winters.
An avid gardener, Ron loved to grow beautiful flowers and produce a bountiful vegetable garden. Ron enjoyed restoring antique tractors, he was most proud of his 1942 John Deere Model D "Hot Rod". Last year, this tractor was donated by Vickie to the Fraser Valley Antique Tractor Association in Ron's memory. Ron was a familiar face at The Abbotsford Agrifair, he also participated in many parades and events, with the club, from the streets of Abbotsford, schools, malls and the PNE to name a few. I know Ron cherished the friendships he made through the years as a member of this club.
We miss you brother - until we meet again.
