1915 – 2011
To know Margaret was to love her. Surrounded by family and dear friends, our beloved Margaret passed away peacefully on March 22, 2011 at Fischer Place, 100 Mile House, B.C. She was born September 10, 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Ruth, granddaughters Chloe and Julie, sister Beryl, nieces Carol, Carolyn, and Katie; and nephews Bob and Dennis. Margaret is predeceased by her devoted husband Harry, her mother Ethel Watt, and her father Alex Alexander.
A generous, loving and artistic woman, Margaret will be greatly missed. Margaret’s determination and immense love of life led her to live each day to its fullest. She will be fondly remembered for her fabulous cooking, her love of gardening, her devotion to her church, and her sweet hugs and kisses. In addition to her many enjoyable years as a manager with the original Murchie’s Tea and Coffee Company, Margaret used her incredible work ethic to improve the lives of others. She devoted her time, wages, and energy to charity and community. Margaret was a committed supporter of her missionary friends throughout Africa and Asia, where she sent love parcels of essentials on a monthly basis for 30 years. Margaret was truly committed to living by her Christian values, and she was an inspiration to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Chapel, 100 Mile House, at 2pm, Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Fischer Place, to caregivers Helen, Linda, Lyndamae, Noreen, Shannon and Ingrid; to the caring Interior Health Home-Support team, and to all of Margaret’s friends at Bethel Chapel.
