In Loving Memory ~
Lionel Haynes Guy entered eternal life on May 6, 2023. His spirit is carried on by his wife Michele, children Patrick, Kevin (Tamiko) and Trevor, grandchildren Josh and Hannah, sister Brenda (Ray), extended family including many nieces and nephews, cherished dog Orion, and friends from every walk of life.
Predeceased by his beloved Granny Castleman, parents Eleanor and Lionel Senior, sister Margaret, and nephew David.
Lionel was born in Nashville, Tennessee but lived most of his adult life in B.C. He was a man with a very big heart who would do anything for his family.
He was an exceptional and compassionate dentist for over 40 years who put the care of his patients above all else.
We were blessed to learn so many valuable "pro tips" and lessons from him during his 81 years, among them: How to milk a cow, build a fence, take a great photo, keep bees, ride a Harley, bake bread, star gaze, plant a garden, tie a fly, smoke brisket, ride horses, hunt moose, raise and harvest pigs, coach hockey and baseball, play the banjo, harmonica, spoons or djembe drums.
Lionel believed a job worth doing was worth doing well, a man of integrity and a perfectionist at heart and curious about all things in life. He loved to laugh, especially at his own jokes. You may read this and recall a conversation or email from him that touched your heart and tickled your funny bone. He will be forever missed.
We would like to thank Dr. Montgomery, Dr. Lubbe, and the nurses and caregivers from Oncology, Palliative Care, and Fisher Place Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
