December 25, 1950 - March 27, 2025
The family of Karen Findlay sadly regrets announcing her passing on March 27, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Karen was born on Christmas Day in 1950 in New Westminster BC to Al and Rae Moller. She became a big sister to Keith in 1952,
and Steven in 1964. Al and Rae moved their family to 100 Mile House in 1964, and in 1966 met the love of her life, Jim. Jim and Karen were married on March 29, 1968. Their son Patrick was born later that year, and in 1971 their daughter Lori completed the family. Jim and Karen owned and operated Findlay Meats from 1973 - 1991.
Karen is predeceased by her father Al in 1996, brother Steven in 2007, and mother Rae in 2015. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jim, her brother Keith (Anna), son Pat (Laurie), daughter Lori (Al), her treasured grandchildren Linden, Carson, Emma, Jorja, Harrison, Cassidy and Wyatt, and many beloved brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews. Karen was blessed to be surrounded by amazing friends who were like family to her, and she cherished them all.
A celebration of life will be held for Karen at the 100 Mile Curling Club lounge on April 12, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. At Karen's request, we ask that you wear bright colors to her memorial to celebrate her radiant spirit and love for life.
The family would like to extend the most heartfelt thanks to Dr Omer, Dr Montgomery, Dr Miller and the nurses and staff of the
100 Mile District Hospital who provided the most thorough and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Karen's name.
