"Big Lynn" Merrick was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on March 30, 1938, passed in 100 Mile House, BC on May 3, 2020.
Lynn died quietly at 100 Mile Hospital. He is predeceased by his wife Sondra (2005) and granddaughter Rachel (Dawn). He is survived by his daughter, Dawn (Keith), son, Richard (Ann Marie) along with grandchildren Amanda and Colton (Dawn & Keith) and Ashley (Richard) and great grandchildren Remy and Alex (Ashley & Luke) and his brother Donald "Muzz" Merrick (Francis).
Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Lynn began Cariboo Diesel out of the back of his Courier truck in 1974 and soon built the shop on Exeter Road after moving to the Cariboo from Delta, BC. Well known around town, he championed the Timothy Mountain Ski Hill, involved with Ducks Unlimited, the Rotary Club, was an avid skier and very proud to have earned his pilot's license in 1976.
The Merrick family would like to express our great appreciation to the staff and support team at Fischer Place and 100 Mile Hospital.
