It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one.
1929 - August 20, 2023 ~
Our Mother, Jean Marshall, born in 1929, passed away on August 20th, 2023. Mom came to the Cariboo as a foster teen in 1945. She worked for Lord Martin Cecil as a servant and recalled that when she worked at the Bridge Creek Ranch, she would keep an eye on Michael if they were playing.
Just a teenager at the time, she remembered taking buttermilk up to the lodgers and water in a pitcher and bowl so the ranch hands could wash up before coming down to the main floor for their dinners.
Mom remembered meeting the Marquess of Exeter once with Michael and she recalled going to Exeter Lake and cutting out blocks of ice to load onto wagons in the winter for refrigeration back at the Lodge on the ranch.
Mom had ten children. Three of them predeceased her; Heather, Don and Ken.
Her surviving seven children live throughout B.C.; Bonnie, John (Val), Sharon, Tim (Bev), Dan (Lou), Robert (Michael), and Diane.
Mom also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and their spouses, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Mom also found time to work for Wildwood of Canada from the late 1960s to the 1980s.

We would like to thank all the first responders and all staff who looked after our loved ones throughout the years in 100 Mile House, Kamloops and Williams Lake. Thank you!
There will be no service by request of all deceased. There will be a celebration of their lives for family at a later date.
