July 11, 1947 - April 19, 2024
In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts, we announce that James (Jim) Murray Williscroft passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on April 19, 2024, with family at his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (of 43 years), his children: Richie (Sandra), Karen (Greg), and Kathleen, his grandchildren: Chelsey (Matt), Tyler, Caitlin, and Sarah, his great grandchildren: Addison and Lily, his sister, Patricia (John), and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Vancouver, BC on July 11, 1947. After he and Sharon fell in love with the 100 Mile House area, they settled near Horse Lake in 1980.
Jim wore many different hats over the years. As a young man, he proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for three years. He also worked for the Vancouver Highway Patrol. He was a Welder Fabricator by trade, as well as a Well Driller.
Jim also spent several seasons volunteering as a youth soccer coach in Ladner and 100 Mile House. His true passion had always been wrought iron design and metal artwork. He could often be found in his shop working on his next creation.
His pride and joy was his beloved 67' Camaro that he put so many hours into over the years. Jim's love of classic cars and hot rods led him to help form the 100 Mile House Cruzers Car Club. He assumed the role of president of the car club for several years and was well known for his fundraising efforts in the community for the annual Hot July Nights car show.
Jim will be greatly missed by all his family and friends as we cherish the time that we had with him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favourite charity or your local SPCA, a charity that Jim adopted many cherished pets from over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 7, 2024, at the 100 Mile Community Hall with a Cruzers car run in honor of Jim, to follow.
