In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Evan McCormick after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He died peacefully in Kelowna, BC on February 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Evan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dawn; his sons Mike (Rene) and Jason (Shae); his grandchildren Rhayne, Brynn, and Teghan; his sister Paige; and is lovingly remembered by many more extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Alice, and brother Tom.

Evan was born and raised in Surrey. Evan met Dawn in high school, and they became inseparable for life. Evan and his family had the opportunity to live in several small BC towns during the 40 years he was a valued assistant manager at Safeway. 100 Mile House is where Evan raised his two sons and has a special place in his heart. Evan loved to volunteer and joined the 108 Mile Volunteer Fire Department in which he served for 13 years. If Evan wasn't working at Safeway or at the fire department, you'd find him taking a scenic walk, visiting family & friends, snowmobiling, or fishing. Evan cherished the small town feel and sense of community the Cariboo offered.

Evan was a devoted and loving father and was appreciated by his family and friends. Evan brightened the world with his extraordinary goodwill and kindness, and we will cherish our memories of him as we hold him close in our hearts. His loved ones will continue to feel joy when remembering his unique sense of humor and undeniable honesty. His sons have always been and will continue to be examples of the special man Evan was.
