Elmira L.
1918 - 2011
Elmira passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2011 at the age of 93 at Mill Site Lodge in 100 Mile House, B.C.
She was born in Invermay, Saskatchewan, married Roy Hollingsworth and had two children, Sanford and Ellen. They farmed in Saskatchewan before moving to Fernie, B.C. in 1948; from there they moved to 100 Mile House in 1951. Elmira was an accomplished seamstress, loved animals, especially horses and cats and was always ready to help an animal in need. Her many hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening and playing the piano. She was generous to a fault and will be remembered in her last years for her bright blue eyes and beautiful smile.
Elmira will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and is survived by her son Sandy (Marg) Hollingsworth, niece Joyce (Gord) Brautigam; grandchildren Laurel (Lorrie) Seterengen, Delphine Dyck, Kelly (Corey) Babet, Heather (Rusty) Hollingsworth and Jackie (Doug) McMynn; great-grandchildren Brent (Allison) Seterengen, Ryan (Toni) Seterengen, Sean and Chris Dyck, Shondra, Adam and Angela Babet; Michael Tomlinson, Kevin Thomas, Tasha and Tia Kirshner; great-great-grandchildren Tyler, 13; Kolbi, five and Riley, four.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother George, daughter Ellen (1969), great-grandson Sandy (1976), husband Roy (1989) and grandson Danny (1992).
Memorial service to be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ at 103 Mile on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mill Site Lodge, Bag 399, 100 Mile House, BC, V0K 2E0.
