Nov. 17, 1922 - July 26, 2011

A long time resident, Doug moved to the Cariboo with his family from Alberta in 1925. He spent many years as a local area hunting guide, cattle rancher and brand inspector.

After retiring from the cattle industry he enjoyed many travels throughout Canada and the U.S. and Mexico.

Dad always spoke fondly of the Cariboo and the many people he knew here. He remained on the farm until 2009, when his declining health forced him to a care facility in the Okanagan as all care facilities in the 100 Mile area were full at the time.

Predeceased by his daughter Sherri, he leaves behind two children, several grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church at 2091 Gordon Drive in Kelowna, on Friday, August 5, at 1 p.m.
