Mar. 6, 1915 - Jan. 3, 2013

Clinton, the second of five children, was born in North Brookfield, Nova Scotia on March 6th, 2015 to Earl and Bertie Ramey. The family moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan around 1922, and then settled in Maple Ridge, B.C. around 1924, where he grew up and learned to ride motorcycles, play guitar, and met his lovely Audrey Daykin. They married in 1940 at the height of the Second World War. In 1942, Clinton shipped off to Belgium, Holland, France and Germany as a member of Lake Superior Fourth Division Motorized Unit. Because of his experience on a motorcycle, it was his job to travel ahead of the unit as a scout, ensuring the safety of his division. He carried his small bible everywhere he went.

Clinton returned home in 1945 to Audrey and to meet his son Larry, who was three years old, for the first time. They soon had a daughter Marlene, and had two more children, a son that was stillborn and a daughter that lived only nine days. Clint worked for B.C. Forest Products, Hammond Division, where he remained for 30 years. Clint and Audrey were founding members of Burnett Memorial Church in Maple Ridge, where Clint was a Deacon.

In 1983, Clinton and Audrey moved to 100 Mile House to be closer to their son, daughter and their young families. They became very active in The Evangelical Free Church.

Audrey and Clint were blessed with 68 years together, before Audrey’s passing from cancer on March 16th 2009. Although Clint lost his eyesight and had difficulty hearing, with help he managed to stay in the home he had shared with Audrey, until his own passing (after a brief hospital stay) on Jan. 3, 2013.

Clint was predeceased by his wife Audrey and is survived by his two children: Larry (Vickey) Ramey, Marlene (Peter) Bleeker; six grandchildren: Dr. Rochelle (Dave) Ramey of England, Jennifer (Jamie) Ramey-Hartnett of Australia, Keith (Diana) Bleeker, Dawne (Brent) Daykin of Kamloops, David (Christine) Bleeker, Linda (Dan) Pinto, and nine great-grandchildren.

Clinton was a kind, loving, gentle man who was loved and will be missed by all of us, but now he is re-united with his Lord and Saviour and his beloved Audrey.

Friends and relatives are invited to Clinton’s memorial service at The Evangelical Free Church on Wednesday, Jan. 9th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons Bible Society would be appreciated.
