October 9, 1949 - May 9, 2025
Carl was born in Moncton, New Brunswick. He was the youngest of 4 with 3 older sisters. His whole life has been surrounded with girls; he has 3 daughters, 5 granddaughters, 2 great granddaughters, twin great granddaughters on the way in August and another great grandchild due in November. He always said "girls are the best."
He met Gail in grade 10 and they became a couple for the rest of his life. They were together 60 years and married 56. They raised three amazing daughters, Corey, Cristy and Shelly who made him proud everyday. He loved spending time with his granddaughters, Alanna, Danielle, Cassidy, Caily and Courtney, and never missed an opportunity to brag about them, he was always so proud of everything they had accomplished.
Carl was a school bus driver for 35 years. He loved all the kids and was told many times that he was their favourite. The highlight of his time driving was when his granddaughters rode his bus - he looked forward to seeing them trudge up the bus stairs everyday.
He was an amazing carpenter with a wealth of knowledge who built many homes in the area, as well as a fitness center, a day care and the church where he will be honoured.
Carl loved to go fishing and hunting with his buddy Teag, bike riding in Palm Springs with Gail, and he was always up for a fun game of pickle ball.
He has left us now but we know he slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord. Thank you to all the caring, compassionate nurses at 100 Mile Hospital, you were all so wonderful!
A celebration of life will be held May 24, 11:00 a.m. at the Good News Centre, Horse Lake Christian Fellowship, 5827 Horse Lake Road.
