December 16, 1959 - July 1, 2024
In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bonnie Davidson-Dodge on July 1st, 2024 in Salmon Arm.
Bonnie was born on December 16th, 1959 in Burnaby, B.C. to Arnold and Sandra Davidson. Her early childhood was spent in Surrey and Langley before the family moved to 100 Mile House in 1973. She spent many years working in the retail business and met many wonderful people throughout those years.
In 1988 she met Mel and they married in 1992 in a "lavish" Reno wedding! Their 32 years of marriage brought many camping adventures and travel. Her last holiday was a bucket list trip to watch her favorite NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings.
Besides watching sports, she loved old movies, was a history buff and loved working on the family ancestry. Her biggest passion was reading any and all types of books and had quite the library!
In 2022 Mel and Bonnie moved to Salmon Arm to enjoy a warmer climate and to be closer to family including step-daughter Michelle Dodge (Chris), grandchildren Jaden, Teryn, (Lexi) great-grandchildren Brayden, Scarlette and Violette and step-son Terry (Cyara), grandchildren Millie and Leo.
Her love for her family was undeniable and she will be missed greatly by her brother Brad Davidson, (Brenda), nieces Amanda, Callie and Stephanie, sister Kim McCoy (Justin), nephews Kevin Cranswick (Megan), Ryan Cranswick (Jessica), niece Kayli and nephew Kobe, Scott Cranswick (Heleana) and nephew Harrison.
Bonnie's battle with Lymphoma cancer began in November, 2022 and with her strength and determination sent it into remission for a few months. Unfortunately, the cancer reappeared in December, 2023 and even with her amazing fight and attitude was unable to win the battle.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and support staff at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital for the incredible care given to Bonnie throughout her journey.
By request, there will be no service. Donations can be made in Bonnie's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
