In Loving Memory (1922-2023) ~
"She took all the wonders of life, wrapped them up in a colourful package and gave it to us" - We will miss you
The family wishes to announce the death of Bess, who passed away on August 21st at the Kamloops Hospice. Prior to her passing, Bess celebrated her 101st birthday - in her own home - with family and friends. To note, Mom lived her life on her terms; more importantly, exemplified what healthy aging looks like.
She is predeceased by son Phillip (Gail), daughter Donna (Jim) and spouse Gustav.
Bess leaves behind her youngest daughter Paula (Randy), sister Doris (Gordie), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.
While Mom resided in various towns and provinces throughout her life; ultimately, her quaint little house in the woods and the Cariboo countryside represented her sense of place and what she lived for.
In terms of passions, she always was up for a family gathering (music/singing/dancing), enjoyment of a good detective read, and watching her Friday night PBS English murder mystery programs. Moreover, Bess was always a great debater regarding social justice issues.
Celebration of life will be held next summer - on her birthday (July 13th, 2024). The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the 100 Mile House Food Bank or the Kamloops Hospice.
